Rules for performance of exercises
Recomendations and precautions
It is important that you consult a physician pphysician
in order to determine which exercises are specifically suitable
for your case.
In order to avoid the risk of damage when
performing the exercises, you must meticulously observe the details
explained for each exercise, begin your training with those
exercises which require the least effort and increase the intensity
in a progressive way, as your physical capacity improves and your
muscles develop. In any event, it is best to be prudent: if you
are not sure of being able to perform an exercise, consult the physician
who prescribed it before taking on unnecessary risks. Generally,
do not perform exercises that cause pain or increase that which
you already suffer.
For the purposes of ensuring the best use of you
time, do the exercises in the order prescribed by the physician.
In this way you shall reduce the waiting and recovery times, so
that each muscle makes the maximum useful effort possible at each
moment.
The most important factor in an exercise program
for the spinal column is not the initial enthusiasm, nor the rate
of progress at the start. Perseverance is of the essence.
Regularity in the performance of these exercises is more effective
than occasional performance or doing them whenever you fear your
back might begin to hurt.
If the performance of any of the recommended exercises
should cause pain, stop the exercise. Forcing yourself to do an
exercise that hurts is not only pointless but may also be damaging.
You must never perform an exercise which causes you pain .
If any should hurt, stop the exercise and consult with the physician
who prescribed it.
Some of the exercises make several muscle groups work together
. These are indicated in the section on the muscle group which
is primarily exercised or, if all groups are equally exercised,
these shall appear in each of the pertaining muscle group sections.
