Dorsal-lumbar stretches
The cat
This movement is specifically designed to relax
the paravertebral muscles.
The starting position is on all fours, with knees
and hands resting on the floor, arms vertical and back straight
and horizontal. You may gently arch it backward if it does not hurt
to do so.
From this position, hunch up the back as much as
possible, arching it forward and making it upwardly convex, and
sit on your heels. Return to the starting position and repeat the
movement until completion of the series.
